Monarch approaches behavioral challenges with careful assessment, individualized training plans, and a focus on helping owners and dogs build safer, more reliable relationships.
Some dogs arrive at Monarch with behavioral presentations that go beyond obedience — fear-based reactivity, resource guarding, threshold aggression, or anxiety patterns that undermine quality of life. These cases are handled under a separate assessment process.
Behavioral modification requires a different framework than obedience training: more careful language around outcomes, more owner involvement, more realistic timelines, and in some cases, veterinary or specialist coordination.
Monarch does not guarantee behavioral outcomes. What we offer is a thorough assessment, a realistic plan, careful implementation, and honest communication throughout — including when we believe referral is more appropriate than continued training.
If your dog’s behavior poses a risk to people, other animals, or property, that conversation happens at intake. We do not minimize risk to secure a client, and we do not begin work with a dog whose situation requires management or intervention beyond our scope.
Not all behavioral cases are accepted. The complimentary consultation determines whether the in-person evaluation is the appropriate next step; final Behavior Modification acceptance occurs after the required evaluation/case review.
Some cases are better served by a veterinary behaviorist, a certified applied animal behaviorist, or a medication consultation. Monarch will say so directly when that is our assessment.
